Q: How does a
medi-spa differ from a day spa? |
|
A: When comparing a day spa to a "medi-spa", there are several
characteristics and procedures that stand out. The day spa is
trademarked for a person to get away from the hustle and bustle of life
for a few hours. A typical day spa is a 'one-use' facility that has
staff to administer facials and massages and usually hair treatments.
At
NuFace
Laser & Vein Center, LLC, we take it a step further,
offering traditional spa services along with skin care services using
medically based treatments and prescription strength ingredients under
the supervision of a medical doctor. The
treatments are not only to escape for a few hours, but to
better your well being for a lifetime. Different from the
traditional day spas,
NuFace
Laser &
Vein Center
has the capability to perform more advanced procedures and treatments in
a safe and nurturing environment.
NuFace
Laser &
Vein Center, LLC
has a professional staff which includes a full-time medical
doctor, registered
nurses, certified aestheticians, certified massage therapists and
hair & nail specialists.
The treatments and procedures vary from laser skin
rejuvenation, permanent hair reduction, BOTOX® and injectable filler
materials such as Restylane®, Collagen and Captique® to manicures,
facials and body massages!

Q: Do the products and
services at
NuFace
Laser & Vein Center cost more than
other spas? |
|
A: There are many affordable products and procedures to
purchase which actually cause changes at the dermal layer of the
skin for results that are noticeable and last. Package discounts are
available for many of the services. Every client receives a
preliminary consultation to determine which treatment options best
fulfill their needs. At this time, our licensed professional develop
a treatment plan and the cost for each procedure is given.
All our procedures and services are very reasonably priced.
All of the product lines are very affordable when compared to
over the counter products from a department or specialty store with
benefits that are much more spectacular. To schedule your
complimentary consultation, call

Q: What do you mean by
healthy skin? |
|
A: To bring the skin to its most vibrant, healthy state
requires more than just a quick fix or a topical cream. True skin
restoration requires a procedure that works with the skin. Your skin
is a magnificent, ever-changing, growing organ that is constantly
replacing itself, and it is possible for it to become the healthy,
radiant skin you have always dreamed of.
|
|
Q: What are the effects of
sun damage on your skin? |
|
A: As your skin ages, the turnover of skin cells slows
significantly, throwing off the balance between the growth of
healthy new skin cells and the sloughing off of old damaged skin
cells. Collagen and elastin begin to slowly break down, causing the
skin to lose its resilience, resulting in fine lines, wrinkles and
sagging. Daily exposure to UV light accelerates this aging process
and causes uneven pigmentation.

|
Q: What is the difference
between BOTOX® Cosmetic and fillers? |
|
A: Frown lines are caused by overactive facial muscles. Fillers mask
the wrinkle by adding volume around the muscle with intradermal
injections. BOTOX® Cosmetic is intramuscular, blocking the chemicals
that cause facial muscles to contract, thereby relaxing them. While
there are many options available for fillers, BOTOX® Cosmetic is the
only product of its type that affects the muscles that cause these
wrinkles.

|
Q: How long does Restylane
last? |
|
A: Restylane is proven to deliver long-lasting results. Studies
have shown that Restylane effects generally last for about six months!
Restylane's stabilization technology helps maintain the cosmetic effect
until the injected material is nearly gone.
|
|
Q: How is Restylane different
from bovine collagen? |
|
A: Bovine collagen is derived from animals (cows) and requires an
allergy test. Restylane can be administered immediately - no waiting is
required!

|
Q: How can light be used to
perform a treatment? |
|
A: When a bright beam of light enters your skin, certain natural
structures in your body absorb the light. One of the structures is
melanin, which is found in the skin and in the hair. Another pigment -
hemoglobin - is found in blood. The third substance in the skin that
absorbs light is water.
When the structure absorbs the light, it converts in into heat.
This is the same principle that makes a black car hot to the touch in
summer. Unlike the black car, melanin, hemoglobin and water are
selective in the light that they absorb. They only absorb a certain band
of wavelengths. This band is called the absorption spectrum.
Ellipse I2PL uses light (carefully controlled and
carefully filtered light within the absorption spectrum) to target the
structure that is causing your problem. In skin rejuvenation, both
melanin and hemoglobin may be targeted.

|
Q: What is the difference
between Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)? |
|
A: Treatments with laser and with Intense Pulsed Light both work
in the same way, choosing wavelengths that are absorbed by the target.
But while a laser uses light with one specific wavelength, Intense
Pulsed Light uses an entire wave band. The different wavelengths can
penetrate the skin to different depths: this targets both vascular and
pigmented structures in a single treatment.

|
Q: What does oxygen do for
skin? |
|
A: Without oxygen, all cells will die almost immediately,
including skin cells. As we age, our bodies, and especially our skin,
lose their ability to retain and utilize oxygen for normal formation of
new skin cells.
By targeting the deep dermal layer of the skin where new skin
cells form and eventually rise to the surface, the ECHO2
Plus™ Oxygen Treatment places over 180,000,000 oxygen molecules per
second into this critical area. Here, the oxygen stimulates production
of healthy new cells and increases the strength and suppleness of the
skin.
